I chose this as my care hospital in Daegu to attend Yonsei Cancer Hospital for my cancer treatment, and I have been living here for about a month now! Although it is a small hospital, the wards were convenient for cancer patients visiting nearby hospitals such as Seoul National University Hospital, Samsung Hospital, and especially Yonsei Cancer Hospital, due to its geographical proximity. At first, I thought that was an advantage when I was admitted, but I have come to realize that I made an excellent choice! Of course, everyone from the hospital director to the nurses, assistants, and cafeteria staff is incredibly kind and treats me like family. The fellow patients living here also show consideration for one another and treat each other warmly like friends. As a result, I have put aside the thought that I am battling cancer in a strange place, and this has become a home where I can feel comfortable and warm, just like my own house. Just a moment. Even though this is just a temporary stopover, it was a great source of support during my battle with illness and held deep meaning for me. I will be returning here with surgery scheduled for March, but at the same time, my heart is fluttering with anticipation for a fresh new beginning.
